Pinault Collection. 100 photographic masterpieces

Co-published by Dilecta and Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection Photography has occupied a large place in the Pinault Collection since 2006. Gustave Le Gray to Cindy Sherman, from Irving Penn to Wolfgang Tillmans, and more by Raymond Depardon or Lee Miller, the successive clashes bear witness to the constitution of a reference corpus in the matter. Both historical and contemporary, the collection reflects all the richness and diversity of the medium photographic. Favoring large ensembles, the Pinault Collection has notably acquired, in 2014, one of the six editions of the “Master Henri Cartier-Bresson's "Collection": a set of 385 photographs. More Recently, Pinault Collection acquired an exceptional set from the Condé Nast Press Photography Fund, including a selection was presented at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice in the exhibition “Chronorama. Photographic treasures of the 20th century”. This time, in this ambitious publication, Matthieu Humery (in charge of photography at Pinault Collection) presents 100 masterpieces from the Pinault Collection and draws up a history of photography through the prism of the Collection.
