GULE GULE
Jean-Marc Caimi (born in 1966, France) and Valentina Piccinni (born in 1982, Italy)
are an artist duo who began collaborating in 2013 for projects
focused on both documentary photography and more
personal and intimate. Their new project Güle Güle is a journey through the
multiple microcosms of Istanbul, moving away from stereotypical images and
tourist attractions to discover the most intimate and surprising aspects of the
city. Here, people, places and situations form a fabric
dense connective, a mycelium of existences. “Güle Güle (goodbye in Turkish) is
a personal project focused on the city of Istanbul. To document the deep
changes taking place in the city and in Turkish society, we
have been in close contact with the realities which are the driving forces and
the results of this change. The photographs are from relationships
multiple, penetrating the complexity of the city and its contrasting microcosms
