Since his first solo exhibition in 1992, Alain Bublex has constantly reinvented the idea of travel by placing photography at the heart of his plastic practice while combining it with drawing. But more than travel and movement, it is the landscape itself that appears as his main subject. The United States has held a special place in this development. Starting with the search for Glooscop (an imaginary city that exists only through its archives), he traveled across the North American continent crossing it from east to west, from north to south, only to return convinced that landscapes have played a primordial role in the constitution of the American nation.
