Presentation of 100 works among the Collection of the art brut constituted by Jean Dubuffet in the years 1970. With major figures like Aloise, Adolf Wölfli, Henry Darger or Augustin Lesage. Jean Dubuffet, at the origin of the concept of “art brut”, gathered twenty-five years during an extraordinary collection of works related to it. In 1970, he decided to perpetuate it by offering a place to these works of self-taught people, residents of psychiatric hospitals, prisoners, originals, loners, outcasts. He is thus at the origin of the first collection of art brut in the world, which includes works by major figures such as Aloise, Adolf Wölfli, Henry Darger, Augustin Lesage, Josef Hofer, etc. This historical reference point, where nearly 60,000 works are kept, celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2016.
To mark this event, this book has been designed as a case housing 100 of the most important works held by the museum. A careful manufacture and a quality graphics will contribute to propose an original and surprising object, in the image of the works which it conceals.
