This book re-contextualises images from print media in India and is a commentary on the present sociopolitical & economic conditions in the country. This is the second volume of In Today’s News, a series edited by Kaamna Patel wherein she deploys appropriated images from print media in India, producing humorous and subversive outcomes arising from semiotic interplay.
This book brings together an assemblage of images that allude to the destabilising of secular values in the country, more recently marked by right wing majoritarianism, religious intolerance, surveillance and neoliberal excesses.
