The monographs in this collection titled Un certain désordre are published by the Antoine de Galbert Foundation. Each book features numerous reproductions of artworks alongside a text written by the artist him or herself or an author of this choice. There were no rules for the choice of artists. Nobuko Tsuchiya was born in Yokohama (Japan). She is the second artist to take part in the residency created by the Antoine de Galbert Foundation and the Cité internationale des arts as an homage to the collector Jean Chatelus, whose eye would have certainly been drawn to her works. In this strange universe of recycling and DIY, the humblest material – wire, cotton, plastic, resin and placenta-like silicone – finds meaning. Infused with both the traumatic history of Japan and a great sense of poetry, these environments have the power to snatch us away from the world and propel us thousands of years into the future or the past.
