for a journey into the enigmatic world of Marcel de Baer, a man who has
never aspired to be a photographer but who, in the exercise of his duties, is
inadvertently became the chronicler of life's darkest moments.
The story of Marcel de Baer takes place in the solemn corridors of the
justice, where he is an expert to the prosecutor. His field is far from the
charming streets of artistic Paris or the grandeur of exotic landscapes;
Rather, it is about the brutal consequences of car collisions in the
Rural Belgium. As a sentinel of the law, he quickly arrived on
the sites of major road accidents, meticulously documenting what
had taken precise measurements using the lens of his camera
and technical drawings. His duty was not to make visual poetry,
but to distill the raw facts into a narrative understandable to judges and
the jurors. With a clinical eye, he faithfully acquitted himself of his
responsibilities, capturing the consequences of chaos.
