Collages 2020-2022 - Nico Krijno is a South African artist who uses the
photography, collage and video as part of a practice based on the
performance that studies visual codes, symbols and patterns
contemporaries as well as the history of the image. \n \nOn paper, Collages
2020-2022 may seem like a special time frame for Nico’s work.
Krijno. In its form, a book is finished, a tidy container that lends itself
to stories with a beginning and an end. Krijno's work, however, is not
finished; it has no resolution or discernible moments that one can
easily point, bind and label. It also does not flow according to
well-ordered rhythms, but accumulates, constantly and relentlessly. The work of
Krijno looks more like - as it always has - a gambling spill
seemingly joyful and childish: disorienting and fantastical, and sometimes almost
absurd, but nevertheless wonderful. This outpouring in this book, puts the work
from Krijno cantilevered.
