Filipo de Pisis and Robert Mapplethorpe

The volume picks up on the unprecedented conversation presented by the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester among the works of the 20th century Italian painter Filippo de Pisis (1896-1956) and one of the most influential American art photographers influential of his generation, Robert Mapplethorpe (1946-1989). Both artists have never met, but their work reveals striking similarities.
