Garden of delight
Garden of delight
In Nick Hannes' photographic approach, which borrows a strong component
politics and social, humor, irony, ambiguity and metaphors
visuals play a major role. Nick Hannes tries to detach himself from
any possible informative value in order to create more universal imagery
which deals with the complex relationship we have with each other,
with our environment and with our world in general. With the project "Garden
of Delight" he works on consumerism, leisure and development
artificial urban landscape in Dubai. The series received the Magnum Photography Award in 2017,
the Zeiss Photography Award in 2018. Nick Hannes exhibited at the Art Biennale
Contemporary of Thessaloniki, at the FoMu Museum of Photography (Antwerp), at the
Bozar (Brussels), at the Flanders Center (Osaka, Japan), Visa pour l’Image
(Perpignan), Foto Festiwal Lodz, Head On (Sydney), Athens Photo Festival, Foto
