The city after
Detroit, USA, July 2013: the cradle of the Fordist economy is
officially bankrupt. In the ruins of the American dream, several visions
clash. Post-apocalyptic ghost town or garden city freed from the yoke
capitalist, Motor City becomes a blank page where different
versions of our future: all is lost, or all is possible again. In
a literary investigation integrating the stories produced by the inhabitants, the
activists, writers, researchers, Raphaëlle Guidée puts our
imaginaries of collapse and asks: how to tell the worlds
complex, fragile, heterogeneous which recompose themselves in times of disasters?
