  • What could change in Tulip's little world? Every element seems to have been there for all eternity, and yet everything moves. A few characters appear, disappear, come back. Those we are used to seeing continue to move anxiously. Only Tulip's love for her tree does not suffers from no movement. He rather suffers from silence. It is vexing for Tulip, who, although otherwise indolent, makes enormous efforts. "I love you ", we read in this fifth volume. This is not nothing. It is far too much for Violette, who would collapse under the weight of these words. It's very little for Crocus, for whom these words are so short that they barely dissipate pronounced. This is not really the point, the sun and the moon seem to whisper and the aliens who, once a millennium, take a look distracted from this side of the universe. And yet. Sophie Guerrive does not build a work, she does not have the soul of a builder; or what she builds, when we want to talk about Tulip, has nothing to do with the violently erected monuments to ward off the passage of time. Stone by stone, twig by twig, Sophie Guerrive's work exists, alongside us, like second nature, like a second world next to ours, and which we are lucky to frequent, sometimes, thanks to her.
