Lili, the rozell and the marimba #3
Lili, the rozell and the marimba #3
This issue focuses on artists who leave cities, who stay or
settle in "the countryside": Why? How? What links do they weave or
them with their environment? What do these artists tell us about utopias?
ancient and current dark imaginaries? The notion of vernacular is
commonly linked to that of anchoring in a locality, and that of art
contemporary to forms of international circulation (biennales, market of
art, etc.). Is there a "vernacular contemporary art", which would describe a
a kind of reverse movement: that of an art that is both sedentary and connected to
various local poles in the world?
