Between an artist's book and a monograph, this work documents a project of
the artist based in a batik workshop in Bantul, Indonesia, a technique
traditional fabric printing and dyeing. Ada Van Hoorebeke combines
textiles, ceramics and industrial products (ranging from spare parts of
strawberry jam cars), recontextualizing ancient forms
craftsmanship in a narrative scheme.
