Relative Moments
Relative Moments
Relative Moments - After releasing Leaving and Waving in 2021, which featured
an excerpt from the work of Deanna Dikeman, who documented her family on
three decades, we are pleased to present the original series in a
comprehensive 300-page book: Relative Moments. \n \nIn Relative Moments,
Deanna Dikeman chronicles ordinary moments spent with her family.
Gardening, cutting a cake, filling the bird bath, mending a
clothing, mowing the lawn or picking rhubarb, it is through these
activities that reveal a daily life that would otherwise go unnoticed. In
This book, which has been generously edited and sequenced — 200 photographs in total
—, attention is not focused solely on the moment immortalized in a
photography, but on all the moments that make up history. \n \nIf this
project develops a visual archive of the photographer's family life, it
also contains larger, more universal truths about culture
American, on the familiar, and on the infinite source of wonder that we
provides the daily routine.
