Rorbuer is a comic strip for the reader who wants to
immerse yourself in a visual and mystical experience in the heart of a lost village in
Far North. The story takes place in a Nordic coastal village where the
Myths and legends govern the daily lives of the inhabitants. Beliefs where the
physical death of men at sea is not the last stage of their being, but
well a passage, leaving the lost soul to cling to the school of fish... The
The story starts from this first belief and evolves towards rites,
healing and homage ceremonies, at the border where the
cold vast land and sea expanses. Inspired by folktales and the
Norse mythology, Aurélie Wilmet uses the clash of colors –
cold versus hot – to highlight the extremes of this region of the globe.
Silent but accompanied by a glossary, this comic strip leaves a great
part of interpretation to the reader, who must find his place as much in the
silent images than in the rites of this country where mystery is
omnipresent. Due to its success, the first edition of Rorbuer,
published in 2020, is now out of print. This new hardcover edition,
