Spell - This is Karel Fonteyne, one of the greatest contemporary photographers and
fashion from Belgium. Since 1968, the artist has created a considerable body of work that has
his place in the history of photography. His timeless visual stories are
relate to nature, darkness and solitude, the inner world and
esotericism, while touching on uncovered dimensions. For more than 15
years, Fonteyne has been active as a fashion photographer, breaking the
boundaries by introducing his narrative approach as a contemporary artist into the
traditional fashion world. He collaborated very early with Margiela, Dries Van
Noten, Walter Van Beirendonck and Dirk Bikkembergs and, internationally,
with Vogue, Interview, Bazaar, Marie-Claire or Brutus Magazine in Japan.
1996, he decided to concentrate on his practice as a contemporary artist.
