Tadao Ando: Complete Works (AV Monographs 241-242) - Former boxer and self-taught architect, Tadao Ando (Osaka, Japan, 1941) is considered one of the masters of contemporary architecture. Monumental, abstract and essential, his considerable body of work - which includes more than three hundred completed buildings - is defined by the use of rigorous geometries, simple materials and scenographic lighting. After introductions by Kenneth Frampton and Luis Fernández-Galiano, 'AV Monographs 241-242' presents a selection of 35 works organized in a detailed chronological order, which take stock of the existential serenity and the connection with nature that characterize the work of the Japanese master.
