THE CITY OF POSSIBILITIES

In 2006, the United Arab Emirates decided to undertake the fanciful project of grow an entire city in the middle of the desert. Masdar City, categorized as a “city "green", has the primary goal of achieving 0% CO2 emissions. This project pharaonic designed by the London architecture firm Foster + Partners comes at a time when ecological concerns related to consumption energy and pollution are increasing. Today, only a few buildings have emerged from the sand: a scientific university, laboratories research as well as headquarters of large multinationals such as that of Siemens. “The City of Possibilities” presents a series of photographs made by Étienne Malapert during his trip to Masdar City, this city green in the land of black gold.
