TWICE

Jacques Sonck is a discreet and introverted artist who paints a very authentic of our society. Each of us can find ourselves in front of our objective. From the most banal physical appearances to the most singular, all genders, all skin colors, all sizes, all religions, from the timid to the most conscious, all feel at the same time time this moment of strength. The portraits of Jacques Sonck are the fruit of meetings in the street, without any other form of appointment. Jacques Sonck puts his comfortable with subjects. He has that rare human gift of being able to approach strangers and ask them to open up to be filmed. These meetings, fleeting and real, flourish in special gelatin silver prints. This new publication was initiated by Jean-Michel Meyers (also designer graphic of the book) who had the idea of ​​focusing on one aspect of the work rich in Sonck, in this case pairs. All kinds of pairs: couples, friends, twins, parents, siblings, but ultimately the bond that unit doesn't really matter. In this book we seek to find out what which exactly links the two individuals, we are secretly fascinated by the real twins, by the sometimes bizarre duos, by the mysterious relationships.
