“1099” is the second part of “2099”.
The work grew out of his interest in how time changes the landscape and the objects in it. Vanoverberghe questions how we look at artifacts, icons and our (near) historical environment. In “1099”, the focus is on the materiality that can be found in many historical places. The book shows various elements dealing with a notion of the constant evolution of history.
