Brigade Cynophile 2019-2023 – “The first volume of ‘Brigade Cynophile’ was published in 2019. At the time, I was living and working in Lyon, had one foot in music, another in graphic design, and was putting out more than one poster a week. Today I live in Marseille, I no longer organize concerts and I’m lazy about going out. Since 2020, my production of posters has diminished significantly in favor of longer, more extensive and more varied projects: record sleeves, publishing, visual identities, teaching… For practical and aesthetic reasons, I worked a lot on my posters as a threshold; I now realize that they were themselves a threshold, a gateway into a space-time, a devilishly formative “alternative” scene, and a long-term practice.

In a way, the selection of this second collection brings to a close a first period of greatness; 10 years of personal and collective adventures that can be read between the lines of these deceptively flat compositions, to be digested as a whole, spoon by spoon, like a big mille-feuille. It’s been weird rehashing all these images, and for me, this release also serves as a happy funeral. I hope, however, that in their own way they will perpetuate many memories and awaken new desires to make.” -Félicité Landrivon
