Discographisme maison – A collection of record sleeves revisited and modified by unknown people, “Discographisme maison / Homemade record sleeves” echoes an intimate experience, on the fringe, ignored, to be placed in a history of iconography and popular music. Timid or unfinished inscriptions, sloppy redactions or accomplished realizations pertaining to a relative “artistic intentionality”, one finds there as many marks of attachment or transgression with regard to “models”: between derision and nonsense, outrageous outburst and blurred occurrence, deletion and artistic illumination, personal messages, declarations of love or rejection… These amateur images are the expression of lived moments, adventurous graphic experiences oscillating between creation and iconoclasm: an irrepressible force that perhaps also reveals the manifestation of a collective unconscious in all its splendor.
