Lectures de prison (1725-2017) – From the Bastille castle to today’s prisons: a collection of documents on prison libraries and on the access (or lack of access) of prisoners to reading. The documents, with various statuses, are preceded by a sequence of 98 images (black and white duotone) and framed by a preface by Philippe Claudel and an afterword by historian Jean-Lucien Sanchez.The text part is composed of five chapters, presented respectively by : Philippe Artières, historian.
