Manon, Zürich-Paris

Manon, Zürich-Paris – The photos taken between 1977 and 1980 are mainly based on sketches and notes for the now well-known series “La dame au crâne rasé”.
Many pictures that Thierry Wurth (1952 – 2006), then partner, assistant of Manon, as well as student and all-rounder, had taken, more or less in secret. These unpublished images were discovered recently by chance. They bear witness to Manon’s settlement in Paris, as well as to her travels that brought her back to Zurich from time to time.

Manon, alias Rosemarie Küng, born June 26, 1946 in Bern, is a Swiss feminist performer, known primarily for her performance, installation and photography work.
