Vincent Poinsot has turned the Excel® spreadsheet software into a graphic production tool. Divided into six chapters – Page Setup, Cell Size, Borders, Patterns, Standard Colors and Themes – this 408-page book attempts to exhaust the visual possibilities of this software.

Since the 1980’s, the computer has popularized computer-aided design.

The democratization of tools dedicated to these new amateur practices (such as Microsoft® Word or PowerPoint) has led to a new vernacular graphic aesthetic. A commonplace aesthetic deeply linked to standardized production techniques.

This project envisages a practice of graphic arts in the constraint of non-professional and general public tools, whose office use of a dull aspect seems to slow down creativity.
