憂魂、高倉健 Melancholy Soul, Ken Takakura – A complete renewal of the “Phantom Book”, produced in 1971 but never released in bookshops. An impressive 370 pages edited by Tadanori Yokoo, featuring still photos of actor Ken Takakura taken by Tsutomu Endo, as well as precious private photos and snapshots. It also includes works by Hideko Hosoe, Yoshihiro Tachiki, Daido Moriyama, Kenji Ishiguro and other magnificent photographers, as well as an interview with Ken Takakura and a chronology by Tadanori Yokoo. The original, long difficult to obtain, was reprinted under the direction of Tadanori Yokoo. Thanks to the latest high-precision printing technology, the photographs are reproduced more vividly than the originals, and new illustrations have been added to make this a precious edition, housed in a magnificent slipcase. A leaflet containing an afterword by Tadanori Yokoo, production notes and a newly-written essay is included in the appendix.
