Polaroid 54/59/79 – Two years after the bankruptcy of Polaroid Corporation in 2008, Dana Lixenberg finished his last box of Polaroid 54. These 4×5 Polaroids, used as test material for lighting and composition, provide an intimate glimpse into Lixenberg’s working process while shooting for many clients such as Vibe, The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Vrij Nederlandand personal projects. In addition to being an ode to this specific material, the book’s large collection of portraits reflects the American culture and society that Lixenberg encountered in the 1990s and 2000s.
