Ted, drôle de coco – Ted carries his tall, gangly frame across the city in a regular and energetic routine; subway-work-sleep, of course, but with an uncommon energy and rigor. Then one day, the mechanism breaks down and everything goes haywire, the day when the subway is under construction and things are not, anymore, as usual. And then, everything goes wrong…

Emilie Gleason was strongly inspired by her brother’s experience, diagnosed with Asperger’s, to tell the story of Ted’s strange days – meeting, talking, love, sex, empathy, so many things that, for Ted, are not really obvious…

But while the “comic book of reality” has produced so many soothing works that exist only by their subject, Emilie Gleason transcends her subject to deliver us a moment of supercharged reading, carried out at one hundred hours, full of unexpected and surprises. Much more than a “reportage” or a “testimony”, Ted is a real immersion in an unusual mind, and offers a rare reading experience, a whirlwind of colors and energy, just like its main character.
