The Archive of Dark

The Archive of Dark – A show, a theater, a multidimensional document. An effort to merge language and form in an aspiration to a cyclical work. A stage for these mergers to occur. A reminder that when we grow, we don’t just grow up. The already porous membrane that seems to separate darkness from light, pain from joy, active from passive becomes intensely insignificant when we have the opportunity to observe ourselves through the mirror.

The Archive of Dark is a book project that is the epilogue to a body of work on darkness, including two separate but coherent exhibitions: Influenza, Theatre of Glowing Darkness, 2017 and Renaissance of the Night, 2018. The book weaves together a dense collection of historical images into an organic and emotional narrative. It presents a series of letters from various contributors that include perceptual, intellectual, spiritual, scientific and artistic reflections.
