Une histoire mondiale des femmes photographes – A fabulous collective sum, a manifesto book, a reference work: this is the ambition of this book co-constructed by 160 women authors from all over the world who present 300 women photographers, from the invention of the medium to the 2000s. The portraits of each photographer have been written by women of all nationalities to avoid the pitfall of a “Western-centric” view. The sequences of portraits alternate with portfolios that bring the works into dialogue with each other.
