Zoo-morph #3

Zoo-morph #3 – pictures from the series Zoo-morph by Batia Suter, still in progress. It is an investigation into the material form and the thematic approach of animal sculptures through the history of art. Based on a vast collection of ancient reproductions – a cross-section of so-called “popular” and “elitist” cultures – the fragments are extended and confronted through layering and digital adaptation. The animal becomes an instrument, a means of transport to share a more or less unconscious and symbolic vision of the history of art.
