Here or elsewhere, how do we embrace a place we love? This is the question Kamil Zihnioglu asks himself as he travels around Corsica to meet its inhabitants, for almost six years. A press photographer in Paris, he decided in October 2020 to leave the city to live on this island. Then begins an impossible quest, that of capturing in images the identity of this territory and those who populate it. Like a mirror, the waters of the Mediterranean then reflected his own face. "Who are you?" they seem to ask him. By leaving aside his journalistic approach, he was able to begin a new
journey without a destination, that of exploring the feelings that this island provokes. Far from the expected clichés, he seeks sensitive traces to redraw an intimate and poetic map of Corsica. Intraccià is the fruit of this wandering, this love and this inexplicable feeling of belonging to a land that is not his own.
