  • The notion of "neighborhood" appeared in urban planning discourses at the end of the 19th century and continued to evolve until the mid-20th century. During This period, four types of neighborhood mark as many moments in the thinking about the city: from the extension district to the functionalist sector, in passing through the garden suburb and the neighborhood unit, so many figures which overlap and reconfigure the face of modern cities.
