  • aka COST aka DTagno - Daniel Weissbach started writing graffiti in 1988. In the 90s he developed a personal and recognizable style under the name TEKNO/TAGNO, which reached perfection in the following decade when he changed his writer name to COST. With an unmatched flow in his tags, throw-ups and pieces, he became one of the best stylewriters in Berlin. Besides being a founding member of the famous DIAMONDS crew in the mid-2000s, he also started experimenting with different forms and tools to create artworks, mainly under the alias DTagno. Since 2010, Daniel Weissbach has been leading a successful career as an artist, with international exhibitions. \n \nIn 2020, Daniel tragically passed away. Daniel Weissbach aka COST aka DTagno is an attempt to create a memorial to one of the most creative writers and artists of his generation. The book balances the trinity of his identities and respectfully allows the reader to get to know Daniel Weissbach, COST, and DTagno, as well as the various works related to these three pseudonyms. Although it treats them separately, it is possible to follow a continuous interplay between these names. \n \nHis entire work is highlighted in various alternating chapters, in chronological and reverse chronological parts, as well as in statements by Weissbach. \n \nThe content ranges from sketches to canvas works, legal and illegal pieces, scribbles to exhibition views, labels, sketches or handwritten notes. His famous productions Das Gerät (the gadget) are presented next to his iconic series Stellen (places), but lesser-known topics such as timelines, cave paintings in Crete or traditional writing works also feature in the book.
