All words and one
All words and one
All Words and One - This is a book about one word: "Skiapod". What began as the task of taking one word from all the existing words, expanding and changing the meaning of that word, quickly became a fascinating journey through the history of humanity and our strange human minds. This book shows how an idea can span different eras, crystallize in the minds of different artists, and settle on different media. From cave drawings to facsimiles, from Malevich to Guston. The book also raises questions: why do we need to create images and meaning? What are we trying to capture by creating an image of a mythical figure? Why do we need to do this? And where can we find the truth in the different chapters of this book? Does this book also say something about all the other words that exist? Should we start writing other books about other words? And what is the right word for the blue printed on the cover of this book?
