  • Andreas Züst has been fascinated by natural phenomena his entire life. From his As a child, he stoically took note of the weather conditions three times per day. Later, as a student of glaciology, he spent entire months in Thule in Greenland drilling ice cores and carrying out countless slides of his research work. The corpus of material The resulting photograph shows the ice in a multitude of aspects. different and escapes any determination, from the white of the ice landscapes infinity and ice crystals on a bright blue window, of a bear polar bear looking into the camera on an ice covered beach at a research base camp under the light of the full moon. The blue glow opaque ice (which can be seen in a slideshow) embodies the aura of these evocative images of the other world. The story of ice and that of life and the work of a glaciologist are told separately in Pursuit of Wonders, but are linked by the atmosphere that emanates from this surreal journey to through a world of ice, completed by contributions from artists Peter Mettler, friend of Züst, Jimena Croceri and Sarina Scheidegger, as well as Kris Decker, a researcher in the history and theory of science.
