Anthony Cudahy: Like Night Needs Morning
Anthony Cudahy: Like Night Needs Morning
New York painter Anthony Cudahy's new zine follows his
previous The Moon Sets A Knife (2021), already published by Semiose, and
about ten other fanzines previously published by the artist. The fanzine is
a form that he particularly likes because it allows him to produce a
very affordable multiple work and to exchange with a community of friends and
of admirers. This new opus includes 24 acrylic paint drawings
diluted, the watery layers on the paper drawing the moving contours of
figures and bodies, to which are superimposed the decorative arabesques of stems
cut out neatly. Throughout the pages, the favorite repertoire is listed
from the artist: tender erotic scenes of flowers, half herbarium, half kamasutra,
where daffodils and ferns speak the language of the heart as much as that of the
body. This fanzine is published on the occasion of the artist's exhibition at the CAP
Saint-Fons from September 17 to November 2, 2025, and entitled "Like Night Needs
Morning".
