  • Social, economic, constructive, environmental and climates which, at the beginning of the 21st century, called into question the foundations of the architectural project, constitute the theoretical background of the events dedicated to the villa that Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret built in Carthage on behalf of Lucien Baizeau, Blanche Thiéblin and their family. The book is organized according to two complementary analytical perspectives. The first is devoted to the history of the villa and allows you to understand it fully the reasons and meanings, the genesis, the theoretical importance, the role of the sponsor and the family joys provided by its spaces, in the aim also to gather the knowledge necessary for its restoration as a fundamental architecture of the 20th century. The second is open to some of the greatest protagonists of today's architecture and is part of Le Corbusier's cultural strategy, which has always been able to reconsider his works in the light of contemporary phenomena, even through graphic manipulations, plane inversions and reversals of photographs, in order to discover their potential unexpected. Thanks to these two axes, history and architectural project enter into dialogue in homage to the theoretical vision of Le Corbusier.
