  • Archive of Dreams - The book Archive of Dreams is published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name that will open the Archiv der Avantgarden. Marking the hundredth anniversary of the first surrealist manifesto and the founding of the Bureau of Surrealist Research in Paris in 1924, the volume is devoted to the surrealist movement, as well as the networks it spawned and the artistic stimuli that he brought to the twentieth century. The idea was that The Office collects dream reports in any form, not only to preserve and analyze them, but also to express them actively involved in artistic processes. The publication shows how the avant-garde practices blurred the boundaries between dream and reality, between the traditional and passive notion of the archive and the idea of a active and innovative artistic experience - and thus, ultimately, between the past, present and possible futures. \n \nWorks and documents dating from before, during and after the Second World War highlight highlight the working methods of international artists and the global network in which they were involved. They are supplemented by various reflections on global protest movements and the trauma of war, this which allows us to make the link with the daily experiences of a Europe in prey to war.
