New Yorker cartoonist Will McPhail's debut graphic novel is a
an invigorating and moving story centered on the person of Nick, a young man
withdrawn who will slowly awaken to the world.
Nick is a young city dweller, an illustrator, whose life oscillates between his projects
personal and a food job within an advertising agency. He takes
posing in cafes and craft beer bars, aware that something
something is missing from his life, and that something is other people and their
intimate worlds. Much more than a critique or a simplistic autobiographical story
of the life of a millennial among millennials, this slice of Nick's life
focuses on the gap that separates us all from each other. Whether it is
from the barista on his street corner, from his family members or from Wren, a
oncologist whose path will painfully cross his, Nick cannot
to stop thinking that there is a hidden world of human interaction outside of
his reach. Nick will finally open up to others at the most tragic moment of his
young life.

with heartbreaking compassion, an embodied echo of our societies where the
