Comic strip 1964-2024

The exhibition presented in Gallery 2 at the Centre Pompidou from the end of May to the beginning November 2024 is a true celebration of comics. It offers an immersion in multiple universes, ranging from the Franco-Belgian clear line to manga Japanese, from underground graphic abundances to styles the most abstract contemporaries. 54 works presented in the exhibition are gathered in 4 large sections in the album, thus constituting a summary of the exhibition: 1) Laughter, fear, black and white / color 2) Dream, writing of self, over the days 3) History, literature 4) Anticipation, cities, geometry In 60 pages, the album shows the themes dear to comics illustrated by the most emblematic authors: counterculture, laughter and fear, literature and memory, dreams and the writing of the intimate, architecture or the city...
