BIRDS OF A FEATHER is the result of an intense collaboration between the
photographer Vincen Beeckman, writer and critic Colin Pantall and the
graphic designer and writer Lien Van Leemput. Together, they developed a project with
OpStap, an organization that helps people suffering from drug addiction and
people on the road to recovery. \n \nThe project began with several workshops,
hosted by Vincen Beeckman and Lien Van Leemput. They interacted with the
OpStap people, and Beeckman also joined them in their activities
weekly outdoor meetings. Conversations took place during which
questions were asked about dreams, memories and concerns
daily. Colin Pantall acted as moderator. He led several
interviews and questioned the purpose of the publication, as well as the
how people were represented, both in text and in
the image. \n \nBIRDS OF A FEATHER looks like an album that contains songs
of different lives. It gives an honest insight into a complicated, harsh and
often hidden.
