BOKKUSU
“Sometimes a detail strikes me and I have to stop and observe it. I have
the deep conviction that I must do something with it, a drawing or a text.
These things are constantly changing, a few years ago it was the
huts, then maps, then bridges. I like to work in series, because
that as I create my drawings, the true meaning of the project is revealed
reveals to me." Here, Nigel Peake deploys a series of box drawings
Japanese ("Bokkusu", derived from the English word "boxes"), and achieves a form
a tribute to the care that the Japanese take in packaging.
