Boubelicquot
Boubelicquot
Boubelicquot lives in the flowery valley, a large extraordinary garden where the
earthworms talk and plants water themselves. With its pincers
sharp as pruning shears, he spends his days cutting weeds
herbs... which is deadly boring when you are a young poppy in the
flower of youth! His life changes the day an old toothless carrot hits him
asks for his help. Boubelicquot then finds himself embroiled in a series of
adventures which, by force of circumstances, will cause him to deviate from his family framework
and school to the point of almost breaking down...
Built like an initiatory tale, Boubelicquot is a gentle and
nostalgic who is interested in the end of childhood. In this bucolic universe
falsely naive, learning about life necessarily comes through experience
of deceit, boredom and injustice.
Thanks to endearing characters and deliciously cheerful humor,
Matthias Le Bihan succeeds in the challenge of drawing us into a fanciful and
crazy that only he knows the secret of. We emerge from this dreamlike microcosm as
we emerge from a dream, with the feeling that beneath the cuteness hides another
meaning, darker and deeper.
