Blue House

Casa Azul is a photographic and sociological project based on stories from Five transgender women incarcerated in one of the men's prisons in the Mexico City. The project shows the process of building the identity of people in an environment that prohibits them from expressing their femininity. Giulia Iacolutti illustrates her point with photographs printed in cyanotype, Prussian blue referring to the “Blue House” within which prisoners are required to wear blue. Casa Azul is winner of the Premio Marco Bastianelli 2020.
