Dogs crushed
Dogs crushed
In journalism jargon, we call "run over dogs" brief stories about
trivial and sordid news items. Taking the expression literally,
Eric Chevillard literally and literarily crushes a dog on every page
innocent - in homage to the famous Three-Line Stories by Félix Fénéon,
who in 1906 had transformed this zero degree of journalism into literature of
high flying. The book is illustrated with eleven engravings by JJ Grandville, and
embellished with an Introduction to zoolatry, by Eric Chevillard, as well as
some brief considerations from the editor on Félix Fénéon and the dachshund Ubu.
The layout features many calligrams and typographic games, in
homage to Apollinaire and the free words of the futurists.
