CLOSE ENOUGH – NEW PERSPECTIVES FROM 13 WOMEN PHOTOGRAPHERS OF MAGNUM
With a title inspired by the quote from Robert Capa, co-founder of the agency
Magnum, "If your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough,"
Close Enough features over one hundred works of art by women,
including Sabiha Çimen's explorations of young women's experiences
Islamic countries in Türkiye, Alessandra Sanguinetti's long-term collaboration
with the Argentinian cousins Guille and Belinda, the dialogue of Bieke Deporter
with Egyptian women from different social, cultural and religious backgrounds
different, and Susan Meiselas' work with women who have sought
domestic violence refuge in the UK. The exhibition includes
also works by Olivia Arthur, Myriam Boulos, Cristina de Middel, Carolyn
Drake, Nanna Heitmann, Hannah Price, Lua Ribeira, Cristina Garcia Rodero and
Newsha Tavakolian. The exhibition was organized by photographers in
collaboration with Charlotte Cotton and coincides with the seventy-fifth
anniversary of the creation of Magnum Photos.
