As the outlook for universities changed at European level,
Art schools in France found themselves obliged to respond to what
Pierre-Damien Huyghe presents it as an “injunction to do research”.
This injunction has a context: the merchandising of knowledge. The philosopher
draws up a statement of the consequences in terms of education and teaching, and
examines the possibilities remaining in the fields of arts, design and
architecture. Between these three fields, despite the discussions, a kinship
exists: not all are intrinsically discourse. Thus experiences
specific factory facilities capable of carrying out research can be developed there.
It is about giving the fact of doing a singular place and making a case for
problems that can arise in him and from him. What are these cases? How
do they show themselves? How to pick them up? Beyond that, how to write not about but
with experience in art, architecture and design? None of these
questions are not economically motivated. This is ultimately the condition
politics of humanity which is outlined in them.
