  • "With Dado," wrote Daniel Cordier, his first dealer with whom the painter had established an intellectual bond, "we are far from aesthetics, we are at the center of bleeding humanity, without literature and without complacency”. As a counterpoint to his demonic and fascinating work, Dado, the Hérouval Time follows the artist's footsteps in his daily life, withdrawn in a hamlet in the Oise. “A hell”, that of the contemporary world, "transformed into Eden," said the painter, evoking the happy moments spent there with his children. The tenderness of a look, that of his son, the photographer Domingo Djuric, offers a new perspective to approach the world of painter, who courageously faces the horror of the world. In the house-studio of Hérouval, surrounded by forests and a pond, we find "the courtyard side of the miracles" that Dado was fond of. We can see the infernal creatures taking life on the canvases, while a cigarette in the corner of the painter's mouth consumes, that around the collected armchairs pile up, the disturbing Hessie dolls beckon, dogs sleep, cats watch among the Stuffed birds and old bones, children play.
